Ok, maybe I am easily amused. But thanks to Derek at GLOBALLY BOUNDLESS (www.globallyboundless.com) I now know how to properly use the Transform tool in Illustrator! Yay, and yay! This tool allows you to line things up very precisely, which is what we Duckwranglers love to see!
Thanks to Lorena and her team, I should have lots of nice new brochures to hand out soon. Woot!
According to Nancy Drake vocal coach and actor, we don’t breath properly after the age of 13. Last night we spent time using our breath to open and free energy throughout our bodies. It was remarkable how the concentration on Tai Chi’s looping breath, and emphasis on pushing the breath metaphorically out through points along our right and left sides resulted in the most amazing sense of calm, yet anticipation of action, that I have ever experienced. I have done meditation before, of course, but this type of breathing, with the required concentration and imagery, meant that my mind could not wander until I had lost all connection with the meditative process, which is more typical for me.
We also spent time being fire, using breath and sound to replicate the growth of a fire from a small flame to an inferno consuming a forest, until finally, when it was all over, silence reigned. Breathing into your belly results in a much deeper and more resonant voice, more pleasing to the ear and less likely to leave you breathless at the end of a presentation.
Having easy to use tools makes maintaining a website a real joy. Knowing that it is properly set up to function, so that all I need to do is use my craft to add personality and utility makes the process relaxing and enjoyable.
